MOV is Apple's QuickTime container. iPhones, iPads and Macs record into it, often with HEVC (H.265) video. Windows Media Player, many Android phones, older TVs and some websites refuse it or play it without sound.

This converter re-encodes the MOV into an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, the most widely supported combination there is. Drop the file in, click Convert, download.

Everything happens in your browser through FFmpeg WebAssembly. The video is never sent to a server, no account is needed, and no watermark is added.

Record in Most Compatible

On iPhone, Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible records H.264 directly. Use this converter for videos you already have in HEVC.

HEVC takes longer

Decoding HEVC in WebAssembly is slower than H.264. A one-minute 1080p iPhone clip takes a minute or two; 4K takes noticeably longer.

Big files

iPhone 4K at 60 fps is about 400 MB per minute. Trim to the part you need with the video cutter first, or convert in shorter pieces.

Frequently asked questions

Does MOV to MP4 lose quality?

The video is re-encoded to H.264. On the High setting the result is visually the same as the source.

Will the audio still work?

Yes. Audio is converted to AAC, which every MP4 player supports.

Is there a file size limit?

Browsers handle roughly 1 GB in memory. Files under about 300 MB and 1080p are comfortable; 4K works but is slow.

Is it free and private?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark added, and the file never leaves your device.
