Phone and screen recordings are far bigger than they need to be. A compressor re-encodes the video with tighter settings so it fits under a limit: 10 MB for Discord, 25 MB for most email, or simply less space on your drive.
Choose how to compress. The quality slider (CRF) keeps the resolution and trades a little detail for a much smaller file. The resolution option scales the picture down to 720p or 480p, which is the bigger saving for large files. Typical results are 50–80 % smaller.
Compression runs in your browser with FFmpeg WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to a server, and the output is a standard H.264 MP4 that plays everywhere.
Discord and email limits
For Discord's 10 MB limit on a one-minute clip, drop to 720p and a medium quality. For email's 25 MB, a quality-only pass at 1080p is usually enough.
Start with quality, then resolution
Try the quality slider first – it keeps every pixel. If the file is still too big, lower the resolution; that is where the largest savings are.
Trim before you compress
Cutting unwanted seconds off the start and end is the cheapest way to lose megabytes. Use the video cutter first, then compress.

Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my video be?
Usually 50–80 %, depending on the source. Phone videos and screen recordings compress the most; already-compressed downloads shrink less.
Does it reduce video quality?
Some detail is traded for size. At the balanced setting the loss is hard to see on a phone or laptop screen. Lower settings show softer edges.
What formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI go in. A compressed H.264 MP4 comes out.
Is there a file size limit?
Browsers can hold roughly 1 GB in memory. Files under about 300 MB and 1080p are comfortable; 4K works but takes several minutes.
