Reversing a video plays the last frame first. It is a classic effect for rewind jokes, un-spilling a drink, or building a boomerang-style loop when combined with the loop tool.

Drop in a clip and click Reverse. Both the picture and the sound are reversed, so the result is a self-contained MP4 you can post as is.

The tool uses FFmpeg WebAssembly in your browser. Reversing needs every frame in memory at once, so it is the most memory-hungry operation on this site – keep clips short. Nothing is sent to a server.

Keep it under 30 seconds

Every frame is held in memory before it can be written out in reverse. A 15-second 1080p clip is comfortable; a two-minute one may run out of browser memory.

Trim first

Cut the exact moment you want with the video cutter, then reverse only that piece. It is faster and safer on memory.

Make a boomerang

Reverse a clip, then use the loop tool or your editor to play the original followed by the reversed copy for a seamless back-and-forth.

Frequently asked questions

Is the audio reversed too?

Yes. Both video and audio are reversed together. Use the mute tool afterwards if you would rather have silence.

Why does it fail on long videos?

Reversing requires all frames in memory at once. Browsers allow roughly 1 GB, so trim to a short clip or lower the resolution first.

Does it reduce video quality?

The clip is re-encoded to H.264. On the High setting the difference is not visible.

Is it free and private?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark added, and the file stays on your device.
