Text that was rendered into the video – a camera timestamp, a burned-in subtitle, a username overlay – cannot be switched off like a subtitle track. It has to be painted over.

Mark each block of text with a box. Use Remove for text on plain areas such as sky, walls or dark bars, and Blur where the text sits on top of detail.

Timestamps

Camera date stamps live in one corner for the whole clip. One box, no time range.

Burned-in subtitles

Draw a wide box across the subtitle band at the bottom. If the band is only present for part of the video, set a time range so the rest is untouched.

Usernames and handles

Overlay handles from short-video apps usually move together with the platform logo – see the TikTok page for the two-corner approach.

Frequently asked questions

Can it remove subtitles that are part of the video?

It can cover them: Remove fills the band from the pixels around it, Blur softens it. Nothing can recover what was originally behind the text, so results depend on the background.

Does it work on 4K video?

Yes, but 4K files are large and slow to process in a browser. Expect several minutes for a one-minute 4K clip.
